Starter Kit Service

INTO offers a lending service for household equipment for all INTO members. Our service is mainly reserved for students studying engineering and architecture at Hervanta Campus, if you are studying at the centre campus you should check out the starting kit service by ESN FINT! There are two different sets that can be borrowed, as well as some extra items.

A small service fee is charged for the starting kits (5€), an addition to the deposit (20€). The deposit is returned to the student completely once the items are returned in their initial condition (clean and dry). When returning the kit, we will inspect the set and deduct money from the deposit if necessary. Note, that for the starter kits we take cash only.

Utensils borrowing and returning sessions are organized usually at the beginning and the end of each semester. The dates are announced via the guild’s official communication channels and below on this page. The sets are given out on a first-come-first-serve system. The starter kit storage is located in the basement of the Hervanta Campus Main Building (Päärakennus), next to the Guild Room. Follow INTO / INTO Starter Kit signs.

Important notes:

👉 IF you have borrowed a kit from ESN FINT, you need to return in to them. Similarly ESN FINT will not accept kits borrowed from INTO.

👉 Make sure you return the kits with its original contents, the list of items can be found below! If there are missing or damaged items, we will deduct the price of purchasing a new similar item from the returned deposit.

👉 Donating extra items is possible if you wish – we appreciate donations a lot! ❤️ In case of donations, please hand out the items in a separate bag than the starter kit items for the convenience of sorting the kits!

👉 If the times don’t work for you, try first arranging another person to return the kit in behalf of you. In case that doesnt work, contact @gorkemkarabay via telegram for special arrangements.

👉 To make sure we dont run out of change, if possible, bring change so that you can accept a 50€ note as a return deposit. e.g. if you are returning both kits and no extra items, bring 10€ as change.

Instructions

• The kits are cash only
• Treat the utensils with care
• We recommend to wash all items before first use
• Do not use metallic cutlery in Teflon-coated pots and pans (it will break the pan and eating Teflon is not healthy). Use wooden or plastic spatulas instead.
• Use covers for pillows and blankets, as well as bed linen on the mattress 
• Before you return the items please clean them and make sure they are dry and grease-free.
